Who We Are

We're called serend.design® because we believe in the idea of serendipity.

That special moment when you find something you weren’t exactly looking for—and yet you immediately sense that it’s the right thing. A happy discovery. An unexpected connection. A solution that doesn’t come from simply working through a list, but from curiosity, experience, openness, and the courage to take detours seriously.

For us, design is exactly that: a process of searching, testing, discarding, and discovering.

As designers, we see ourselves not merely as creators of form, but as seekers of solutions. We don’t design just to fill space. We design to make things more understandable, accessible, precise, and effective. Beauty is not an end in itself—but it’s not just a bonus either. It’s part of the function. Because good design must not only work; it must also move people. It must provide guidance, build trust, create desire, and demonstrate character at the right moment.

Beautiful is good. Functional is better. It’s truly great when the two go hand in hand.

We work in a field where it feels like everything has already been done—and yet something new can emerge every day. Logos, websites, campaigns, interfaces, brands, systems: none of it is new. And yet every project is different, because every context is different. Different people. Different goals. Different contradictions. Different nuances. That’s exactly where design begins for us: not with the question of what something should look like, but with the question of what it needs to achieve.

We don't believe in design as decoration. We believe in design as a precise solution.

Good answers rarely come about in a straightforward way. They emerge through research, through conversations, through observation, through frustration, through trial and error. Sometimes by chance—but never without attention. For us, serendipity doesn’t mean searching aimlessly. It means working with an open mind so that you recognize the unexpected when it arises. Because not every discovery announces itself loudly. Some lie in a subordinate clause. In a contradiction. In a detail that seems unimportant at first.

Our job is to spot these moments—and turn them into something meaningful.

In an era when artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming design, communication, and production, this mindset is more important than ever. AI is already capable of doing many things today: creating layouts, drafting text, generating variations, constructing images, and writing code. And it’s getting better. Fast.

We do not resist this trend. On the contrary: we view AI as a tool. As an extension. As a catalyst. As an opportunity to perform repetitive tasks more efficiently and to open up new possibilities within the process. Anyone who takes design seriously should not turn their back on this tool. But neither should it be confused with attitude, experience, or judgment.

AI creates possibilities. People make decisions.

Good design doesn't come about simply because something is possible. It comes about because someone recognizes what is right.
